Breaking and Entering.

Good morning?

When I got into my car this morning, it was a mess.

More of a mess than usual even.

Some jackwad was in my car overnight and had pulled everything out of the glovebox and the armrest, looking for… I don’t know what.

Because they didn’t take anything.

The golf clubs, the books on marketing, the flash drives full of interviews that I listen to. None of that is missing.

My wife’s car was parked in the driveway… It happened to her as well.

Yep, we both forgot to lock our cars on Sunday. Our fault. I suppose this was a gentle reminder.

What’s done is done. I can’t change the past.

The Stoic philosopher Epictetus said,

“When something happens, the only thing in your power is your attitude toward it; you can either accept it or resent it.”

Accepting unfortunate events isn’t always easy.

Today’s entry for 31 Ways to Change State is Pray— we can call on a higher power to help us bear our burdens and help us accept what is outside of our control.
