As we near the end of our 31 Ways to Change State, I want to thank you for your participation and advice.
We gained a few subscribers and lost a few along the way.
Rather than let this deter my efforts… it gives me reason to continue working on this project for the people that value it.
I have begun to plan my 2019 with a look back on 2018—
- Where have I succeeded? Why? How can I increase these?
- Where have I failed? Why? How can I avoid these?
- What goals can I work towards, what systems to do this?
- What can I remove from my life to free up space? Learn to say No, and increased Sacrifice.
These ideas come from Dennis Demori (gotta give credit!) but they’re not unique to anyone looking to grow.
Today, with the swirl of our holiday break wrapping up and even though it’s Sunday…
I plan to concentrate on these questions and give myself some answers!
When we concentrate, we give ourselves permission to cut out external distractions. We enter what Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi calls Flow.
Being completely present inside your activity is at the root of Mindfulness and helps form the Buddhist mindset.
Concentrate today on an activity that you can give your mind a singular focus. This is a mindset that doesn’t always come easily, for we are easily distracted.
If you don’t have any such activities today, consider reviewing your own 2018 and planning for 2019 with some quiet Concentration.
It just might change your trajectory.
